G - Golden Shovel

A Golden Shovel is written by taking a line or lines from a poem you like (or dislike, it doesn't require you to like it, just pull a line or two from it!) and use each word as end words in your poem.  Keep them in order, and make sure to give credit.  I also will give credit to Terrance Hayes, who created this form. 

My Golden Shovel is from The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, by T. S. Eliot.

"Till human voices wake us, and we drown."

Nightmares

 

We sleep as peaceful creatures till,

being mere human

with weak human voices,

we wake.

Stirring, our dreams are with us

to recall our fears, and

they are so frightening we

feel as if we may drown.
