P - Palindrome Poem

Also called a Mirror poem, a Palindrome poem is written in two halves.  In the second half the word order from the first half's lines are reversed.  So, if you were to write "Sunlight shines" in the first part, in the second half it would be "Shines sunlight."  Sounds easy, but it's quite tricky.  There is often a bridge word between the first and second half.   I used a two word bridge.

Dog chase cats

round and round

Sofa, hallway, kitchen

Barking, yowling, cacophony

Flying plates and plants askew

Nose bloodied

No more fun

Cats are always winners

Poor dog

Winners always are cats

Fun no more

Bloodied nose

Askew plants and plates flying

Cacophony, yowling, barking

Kitchen, hallway, sofa

round and round

Cats chase dog

    1. Yeah, you can't start sentences with The or A, or the usual things. I've seen some with longer sentences, but I haven't managed it yet.

  2. This is similar to reverso poems, in which the lines are reversed, rather than all the words. (Explanation here: nydamprintsblackandwhite.blogspot.com/2013/12/reverso-fairy-tales.html) The full palindrome version seems like it would be even harder!

    1. I don't know, that sounds pretty hard! I like the story you shared there.
