W - The Writer

The writer sits slouched
before his old machine.
The sounds of
key to paper,
carriage “ding,”
both comfort him.
The sounds of progress
to his ears.

  1. I used to love hearing my mother typing on a typewriter at night after I was in bed. =)

    1. My father used a manual typewriter too. Long after he could have gotten an electric. Before computers or even word processors. In high school typing class (why did I take typing?) was manual, and one week on electrics. My son likes the old ones just as collector pieces.
