C - Crocus

While winter winds
and winter rains
and even winter snows

Drench garden beds
and garden paths
and even garden rows

The crocus blooms
throughout it all
with promises of spring

This flower first
is sure to cause
our garden hearts to sing

  1. I love crocuses so much, but the rabbits nibble mine mercilessly. Thanks for the poem!

    1. I guess I am fortunate not to have rabbits! I read so many gardeners complaining about them, and deer.

  2. Ah, faithful crocus never let us down.

    1. That's so true! As fragile as they look, even snow doesn't faze them. I plant more every autumn.
