U - Under the Waves

Under the waves
where the finfolk play
something terrible lays in wait.

A dark unknown
that the kraken fear
in that dark, that dusk, that deep.

Far beneath the place
where the mermaids sing
where the siren songs are heard,

Leviathan waits
and Leviathan plots
rat’ling chains in Neptune’s keep.

  1. Never thought I'd read a poem about kraken! Well done.

  2. This is a very pretty poem. I think it would go great with illustrations. Great choice for A to Z.

    1. Thank you. Maybe I'll ask my son to sketch some kraken and finfolk! That might be fun!
