I love you
even if…
The cap is off the toothpaste

even if…
The toilet seat’s left up

I love you
even if…
You forgot my birthday

even if…
The trash is not put out

even if…
the earth would stop revolving
or, stars fall from the sky

even if…
our heads of brown hair
have now long turned to snow

I love you
always and forever
then and now
