Today is National Cheese Pizza Day in the U.S.

Prompt words in red, used in a silly bit of nonsense.

How many people don’t like pizza?

Even my old granny does!

She’s toothless and cranky,

and wrinkled and shrunk,

with her chin all covered with fuzz.

How many people don’t like pizza?

No one I ever met!

Take a poll, ask your friends,

strangers strolling the streets

They’ll all say “Of course,” I’ll bet.

How many people don’t like pizza?

I won’t believe it’s true!

They’re liars or hiding

their secret obsession:

A slice with a nice cold brew

How many people don’t like pizza?

Ambrosia of the gods,

piping hot from the oven,

a mouth-scalding treat.

What would be the odds?

How many people don’t like pizza?

The cheese, and golden crust,

all melded together

in one gooey pie.

I’ll get a pizza, or bust!*

*I haven't seen auto window signs reading "... or bust" in years."  Maybe it isn't done anymore, but as a young girl it was common to write on a window your destination, claiming for instance, "Tahoe or Bust!"   Maybe it was a 60's thing.  Maybe it was a west coast thing.  Maybe it was an American thing.  The phrase "or bust" just jumped out at me as the rhyme for "crust"!
