The Copper

While last week's prompt included writing a butterfly cinquain, I couldn't help but write one again for this week's prompt!

Warm sun

Rich sweet nectar

Days filled with abundance

Crickets chirping by bright moon light

Chill wind

The asters frozen by morning

The butterflies are gone

Mourn their brief lives

Too short

  1. So lovely! A butterfly cinquain is a perfect choice for the prompt, Lisa.

  2. I had to smile at your decision to write another butterfly cinquain - I thought many might want to go this route, since it's fitting. Your poetic imagery, the word choices, are wonderful, really capturing the essences of these special, albeit too brief moments. So too wings must flutter and wave good-bye. I think your poem translates the excitement and delight you must have felt when you captured the image - a lovely companion, each to the other, (photo and poem, and butterfly and aster).
