Things I Love

Among the things I love

are the winter leaf-stripped ash trees

in the yard,

and your voice

in late-night conversation,

the strident tone of day put aside.

As our time together draws to a close,

I mention these,

for later,

when you are gone,

remembering

may be enough,

and thinking so

makes me happy now.

    It is always good to admire our environment especially the wild world of whispering trees and bubbling streams.
