Impatience (Termelay)

 Tanka Tuesday #209

Mine is a Termelay, an unrhymed 6-line poem where line 6 repeats line 3, with syllables 4/4/4/8/8/4.

Shall I long wait

for you to say,

“I love you so?”

Does your silence suggest you don’t?

When in my heart I long to say,

“I love you so.”

  1. Thank you. I did just notice I ended two lines with "to say" and it wasn't necessary, or even deliberate! I would have changed it if I had noticed. Oh well... It might look like I meant it!
