LOVE LETTERS

Dear Mr. Glover,

I am writing to let you know
you left your pullover at my house,
the one with the allover cloverleaf pattern,
last time you cleaned the furnace.
I will hold onto it until your next visit.
I like that it smells of cloves!

Dear Mr. Glover,

I am writing to apologize
for my plover hunting hound, Truelove,
chewing up your work gloves.
The mess she made under the paloverde tree
makes me look like quite the sloven!
Rest assured, I am nothing of the kind.

Dear Mr. Glover,

I am writing to inform you of the fact
my furnace is having some sort of boilover.
It is making the sounds of a cloven demon!
I fret it may rollover.
Please come as quickly as possible.
I have purchased you new gloves.

Dear Mr. Glover,

I am writing to assure you,
the damage to the loveseat fabric was minimal.
Only one small lovebird and two foxgloves were stained.
It was my fault entirely for the tea being so hot.
Anyone would have dropped his cup,
causing a spillover.

(There is a “trick” to this poem.  Check out the words you probably found unusual, or seemingly misspelled and see if you can find it.  I will reveal the “trick” on Monday, our next alphabet letter day.)

    1. I've always liked that expression! I think the youngsters think it's "baited." If they know it at all.

  2. Love this - I'm always saying the world is overly in need of more love letters. Can't wait until the calendar rollover for you to disclose the trick.

    1. In this case, I'm not sure the recipient feels that way! I may write a response, but I'd have to add another letter to the alphabet or replace what I have.
I enjoy the rare physical postal service delivered letters. It's not the same rereading an email!

  3. Clever!

All the best for the rest of the challenge.

    1. Thank you. I can't take credit for the idea, I've read a few myself.

  4. This is fun!
I often struggle with the poetry posts but I'm sailing along just fine with yours. :-)

    Happy A-Z'ing

    1. Thank you. My poetry is more on the simple side, rather than deep metaphors! I don't want anyone having to ask, "What does it mean?" Except this one, which is supposed to have the hidden meaning!
