G - Gallery Seating

   GALLERY SEATING

The cheapest ticket to the show
was all that I could bear.
No one told me that I’d sit
behind the pillar square!

(I was inspired to write these words while reading a seating chart for a show which informed purchasers that certain seats were behind the supports, and the views would be blocked!  I wondered why anyone would pay for a seat without a full view.)

    1. That's what I thought! It was Cavalia, in Portland, Oregon a few summers ago. I saw the big tent and looked up what was happening, and read the seating charts. The tickets were still fairly expensive, at least for me, maybe not for Portland!

    1. Very true! If we could have one superpower, I wonder which I'd pick? Probably not x-ray vision, as handy as that could be.

  3. The same thing happened to some friends of mine... they went to a Cavalia Odysseo show and ended up behind a pole.

    Great poem!

    1. It must be the way the tent is designed. I believe that was the show I read about, it had horses.

  4. Reminds me of old Comiskey Park in Chicago, where seemingly every view from the outfield had a pillar at least partially blocking the view...

  5. Oh yes, this has happened. Short and true - good verse.
