Make-Believe

 The Whirligig 309

Prompt words in red.

We play

We sing

We sway

We watch the water

Spilling over the sides of the boat

As we drift away

Don’t cry

It’s only rain

Our boat only a rock

On the grass

In our own backyard

  1. Despite being in the backyard it can provide the necessary inspiration. It is good to have an object at hand to symbolize elements that inspire our poetry. Right on Lisa!

    1. You are so right, inspiration can come out of our own backyards, or imaginations!

  2. Well you certainly don't waste words do you? Raising our own children many years ago it is amazing how much fun you can have in your own back yard.

    1. Funny you should mention my not wasting words. This one just wrote itself with the "play," "sing," "sway," words sitting right there!
