Mister Fix-It

Friday Fictioneers

Write a complete story using one hundred words (or less, but my personal challenge is 100 exactly).  This week I wrote a poem that tells a story.  The sad, sad story of Ted, The Fix-it-Man

100 words

She warned Ted to leave it,

to call a mechanic.

But show him repairs,

he’s a fit-it manic.

The problem with Ted,

he’s not too adept.

Something poor Ted

just cannot accept.

“Just let me fiddle

and take off this part.

I could do it with eyes shut.

I know it by heart.”

Five hours later

ol’ Ted’s in the house,

his hat in his hand,

to face his mad spouse.

Has Ted learned his lesson,

and turned a new leaf?

The next time this happens,

will he spare her the grief?

With the size of Ted’s ego?

Not likely!

  9. Dear Lisa,

Such is the nature of the beast. Poor Ted. And poor Mrs. Ted. Nicely done.

  10. What a fun poem. Poor Ms Ted needs the patience of a saint though.
