A Taste of Something Fine
Friday Writings #193: Tell Me Something Good
“...for this week's optional prompt, I am requesting that you tell me something good.”
I hear the sparrows’ chirp
cicadas’ buzz
smell the neighbors’ barbecue
I see the clouds above
floating gently by
feel breezes in my hair
I pick a warm tomato
ripened in the sun
...a taste of something fine
the dog is belly up
wriggling on the lawn
his carefree joy contagious

A ripe tomato and a dog that wants to play. Can't beat that. I used to eat tomatoes, radishes, and carrots from my mother's garden. Salt not needed. Thanks for bringing memories.
ReplyDeleteYes nice one These are the good things in life Cute video
ReplyDeleteOh! Yes! I could taste that tomato, see and hear it all, respond to the dog... Very, very good indeed.
ReplyDeleteI love your dog photo - and your words remind us that 'everyday' things are indeed good - Jae
ReplyDeleteWhat joy in the small things that mean so much and are often taken for granted. We should. be grateful for having them, as your poem shows!
ReplyDeleteSummer tomatoes are so good! Especially if one happens to have some good bread and a bit of garden grown basil on hand. LOL, I often have to save my lunch from my dog's attention. But cuddles with my favorite food thief are still quite nice.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! To taste a freshly picked ripened tomato from one's own garden is heaven.
ReplyDeleteI love the doggy video and I love your poem, the simple joys in our every day lives turn out to be quite magnificent, don't they?
ReplyDeleteA sunny day with a ripe tomato and a happy dog? That's something fine!
ReplyDeleteSo delightful. Relatable. In the moment. Loved this.
