summer's last hurrah
has come and gone, once again
brisker nights arrive

And Down Under one more blanket comes off the bed:) Enjoyed your little poem
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I know that well! Here, in the Australian spring, I am still in bed socks but have taken two blankets off the bed, and the oil heater goes on later in the evening now.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's one long, fur-lined pajama party from now on - all those long nights too :-)
ReplyDeletePumpkins are in, strawberries are out. I enjoyed my read here. Growing up I truly followed your advice. Two bedroom house, after my sister came in I was out, sleeping out in the porch. No heat or air-condition there. Frost on the windows and on my blankets.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have such weather here. But somehow reading your poem made me feel cozy and tucked in :)
ReplyDeleteCheers,

Do drop by mine.
Oh I need socks to go to sleep at this point! LOL, cold feet keep me awake.
ReplyDeleteThe Perfect Autumn Tanka!!! I love reading and writing tanka poems. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteNice tanka!
ReplyDeleteYes, time to dig out the blankets in Virginia too. Nice tanka.
