summer's last hurrah 

has come and gone, once again

brisker nights arrive

one more blanket on the bed 

long sleeves and socks for morning

  2. Ha ha, I know that well! Here, in the Australian spring, I am still in bed socks but have taken two blankets off the bed, and the oil heater goes on later in the evening now.

  4. Pumpkins are in, strawberries are out. I enjoyed my read here. Growing up I truly followed your advice. Two bedroom house, after my sister came in I was out, sleeping out in the porch. No heat or air-condition there. Frost on the windows and on my blankets.
