Envy

Sixth in my Seven Deadly Sins poems, I had this marked as already posted, yet I don't find it on the blog.  Seven lines with seven syllables per line.  Also, please take the last word, "we," as poetic license!    We know the neighbor's grass is mown, we know his car is washed. We know his job is better than our own, and he's his boss. We know these things and plenty more, we know the monster green,   who feeds on our begrudgement, while our neighbor envies we. ©2022 Lisa Smith Nelson. All Rights Reserved
