Florida Girls
Prompt words in red.
The Florida girls
were there for fun,
the spray off the gulf,
and cold hard cash.
Fun,
with maybe a bit of scandal thrown in.
A little lie here…
a second one there,
an agreement
to unify their words.
All the easier to buy them.
And buy them he did.
When the news hit
he found himself in the middle of it.
Run!

A most delightful and entertaining way to use WORDS!!!
ReplyDeleteThere's always one word that just needs an extra push to fit somewhere. This week it was "unify." I misread it for "unity," which worked on my first version so well.
DeleteAfter certain doings, one can't run fast enough.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, but hopefully they'll get caught in the end.
DeleteI'm in awe of how convincingly you've incorporated the words into a coherent tale, and the clever way you've utilised the rhyming of 'fun' and 'run'.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy writing from word list prompts. My personal challenge is to use ALL the words. Actually, I guess it isn't a challenge, since if I can't do it, I don't post it! Thank you. The words here could be nothing else for me than what popped into my mind when I read them. US political news, with poetic liberties!

Run!
Good advice, Lisa! And a good close. In fact, done very well to incorporate all words. Love the humour more so!
Hank
Thank you. I challenge myself to use all the words, or I don't do it! A bit obsessive that way!
DeleteAs he should! What a clever write!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much.
